JP5 and JP12 (for COM1) / JP7 and JP14 (for COM2) /JP8 and JP15 (for COM3)
These jumpers allow you to configure the serial COM ports to RS232, RS422 (full duplex) or
RS485. JP5, JP6 and JP12 are used to configure serial COM port 1. JP7, JP13 and JP14 are
used to configure serial COM port 2. JP8, JP9 and JP15 are used to configure serial COM port
3. The pin functions of COM port 1 to COM port 3 will vary according to these jumpers’ set
-
tings. In addition, COM port 1 and COM port 2 can be switched between normal RS232 and
RS232 with power. You can also configure the RS485 auto flow mechanism with the BIOS
setup utility. For more information, refer to Chapter 7.
