2.7.16 CompactFlash Socket
The system board is equipped with the CompactFlash
TM
socket for
inser ting a CompactFlash
TM
card. CompactFlash
TM
card is a small
removable mass storage device designed with flash technology - a
non-volatile storage solution that does not require a battery to
retain data indefinitely. The CompactFlash
TM
technology is widely used
in products such as por table and desktop computers, digital
cameras, handheld data collection scanners, PDAs, Pocket PCs, handy
terminals and personal communicators.
CompactFlash
TM
and IDE 2 share the same channel. Since
CompactFlash
TM
on this board is always in Master mode, if a
CompactFlash
TM
card is installed in the socket, make sure the drive
connected to the IDE 2 connector is set to Slave mode.
