Pack undercuts with sealing compound and
coat dies and adjacent parts of the cast with
Isolation Fluid K. Soak plaster dies in water
before isolating to eliminate air. The isolat-
ing film must be left to dry for 10 minutes be-
fore applying the plastic.
Mixing
In cold curing the Promotor K is required for
hardening. First mix powder and Promotor K
in the proportion of 10:1 by weight.
Place 1 large measure of powder and 1 small
measure of Promotor K in the special mixing
vessel and shake well. Mix this blend on the
palette with monomer K to a creamy-to-pasty
consistency, depending on the nature of the
work.
Working time may be up to 4 minutes after
mixing, depending on consistency and room
temperature.
The powder/Promotor mixture is workable
at room temperature for 4 weeks.
Layering
As in the direct build-up method described on
pages 3–4. Do not use protective varnish!
Curing
Hardening takes 8–12 minutes from start of
mix, depending on room temperature. lt is
advisable to cure in a pressure vessel for
10 minutes at 40–50 °C.
For large or complicated workpieces an
intermediate cure of the applied material
is recommended, also of 10 minutes at
40–50 °C, in the pressure vessel.
