Installing PowerPath on the Server
9. At the prompt for the directory where the PowerPath program
files will be installed, accept the default base directory (
/opt
) or
enter the path to an alternate base directory.
PowerPath installs its files in
/basedir/EMCpower
; the installation
process creates the
EMCpower
directory. For future reference, make a
note of the name and location of the PowerPath base directory.
10. At the prompt about scripts that execute with super-user
permission during the installation, enter
y
.
The screen displays information about the installation.
If you are upgrading from 3.0.x and the display indicates that the
configuration files failed, your custom configuration is no longer
available after the installation. If any of your applications are
configured with PowerPath pseudo devices, you must
reconfigure those applications. Refer to
Installing and Configuring
emcpower Devices With Solaris Applications

website.
11. If the CD volume management daemon
vold
is running,
unmount and eject the CD:
a. Enter:
eject
b. Remove the CD from the drive.
12. If
vold
is
not
running, unmount the CD:
For example,
a. Enter:
umount /cdrom/cdrom0
b. After the CD unmounts, eject the CD and remove it from the
drive.
