( 2 ) IP Settings
Internet Protocol (IP) is a data-oriented protocol used for communicating data across a
packet-switched network.
DHCP
DHCP ( Dynamic Host Control Protocol ) is a set of rules used by communications
devices such as a computer, router or network adapter to allow the device to
request and obtain an IP address from a server which has a list of addresses
available for assignment.
Fixed IP Setup
- IP Address
Allows you to key in your fixed IP Address of a network.
- Subnet Mask
Allows you to key in an address code which determines the size of the network.
- Default Gateway
Allows you to key in an address which forwards internet traffic from your local
area network.
- Primary DNS
Allows you to key in the IP Address of your DNS, which can be obtained from
your network administrator.
- Secondary DNS
Allows you to key in a secondary DNS.
