Smart
card
processing
differs
from
other
types
of
card
personalization.
The
“smart
card”
step
of
personalization
is
controlled
by
an
application
that
is
separate
from
the
rest
of
card
personalization.
Smart
card
setup
usually
is
provided
by
a
value
‐
added
reseller
or
service
provider.
Request
information
about
the
smart
card
module
installed
and
the
type
of
cards
to
use
from
your
service
provider
or
value
‐
added
reseller.

Smart Card Codes on the Printer Label
The
configuration
label
includes
codes
that
identify
the
type
and
model
of
the
smart
card
module
installed
in
the
printer.
The
following
table
lists
the
codes
used
on
the
configuration
label.
The
S1
value
on
the
configuration
label
indicates
that
the
printer
has
the
basic
smart
card
components
installed.
Basic
components
include
the
mounting
hardware
only.
An
integrator
must
install
a
contactless
reader.
If
the
S2
value
is
included
in
the
configuration
code,
the
printer
has
the
basic
components
of
an
S1,
plus
the
SCM
Dual
(Contact/Contactless)

installed.
