Communications Protocol
C1 Protocol Overview

C2 Protocol Features
• ASCII-based
Camera Serial Port Defaults
• 8 data bits
• 1 stop bit
• No parity
• No flow control
• 9.6Kbps
• Camera does not echo characters
C3 Command Format and Examples
• A carriage return (CR) end s each command.
• Values in square brackets are optional.
• There are two method s for entering the command s: In long form each command is
w ritten in its entirety. In short form , only a p red efined abbreviation is requ ired . The
m anu al u sed the short form .
• The following parameters are used in the manual:

= p ixel start an d stop valu es
• The camera will answer each command with either "OK >" or "Error x: Error Message
>". The ">" is alw ays the last character sent by the cam era.

command_long/short_form [parameters…] CR
Example: to set the gain to –3.5dB on all taps
set_gain 0 – 3.5
