To satisfy different ergonomic requirements for different disciplines, small differences in the area
covered by the material of Area A in the Area B are permitted, with a limit of 8 cm
2
of surface
covered per boot.
The lower tangent of zone 2 is used to define the lower limit for measurements F and G. Zone 2
can be identified by centring the point X on the natural centre of the ankle, identified through the
footwear worn by an appropriate person.
FOOTWEAR PERFORMANCE
The protective devices covered by this Informative Note must be considered Personal Protection
Equipment (PPE) because they have been designed and produced to provide limited protection
against the risks of mechanical impact after fall.
