When the burner request ends due to the controller: Solenoid
valve closes, oil preheating switches off.

Burner blower switches off.
CM471 firing unit
The modulating CM471 oil firing unit controlled by a microprocessor
controls and monitors the firing program and the temperature
sensors for the inflow and return temperatures. It features the follow-
ing properties:
▪ Direct communication with the controller via the internal eBus, via
which all the available information (temperature values, control
signals, fault information) is transmitted. This is evaluated by the
controller and displayed on the control section.
▪ Fulfils all safety-relevant functions for combustion monitoring and
for safety temperature limiting.
▪ Possibility of carrying out certain parameter adaptations via Burn-
erChipCard (BCC).
▪ Stable programme times, independent of the fluctuations in the
mains voltage or ambient temperature.
▪ Operating safety, even in the event of power failures. The firing
unit switches off in the event of a power failure without a fault sig-
nal and on again once the normal voltage has been resumed.
7.2
Safety function
Fault shutdown and malfunction indicator
An overview of locking and temporary malfunction shutdowns can be
found in
Chap. 10.3
.
INFORMATION
A locking malfunction can only be reset manually on the
controller of the A2 F (see
Chap. 10.4
).
INFORMATION
With a temporary fault shutdown, the burner is switched off
for at least 60 secs.
When the above conditions are back in the normal working
range, a burner release is carried out automatically.
A fault is displayed:
▪ by the red backlight on the display,
▪ by a clear text fault message with the fault code on the display on
the control section.
Unlocking the burner
INFORMATION
The cause of the last fault is saved in the device and can
be reconstructed, even after power failure, on restarting
the device.
Locking faults detected by the firing unit can only be released manu-
ally directly on the boiler.
Requirements: The cause of the malfunction has been rectified, the
burner is connected to the electrical system.
1
Switch on the A2 F.
2
Push the Exit button (
Fig. 6-1
, Item 13) for at least 5 secs.
è
The
"
Special Level
"
menu is displayed.
3
Use the rotary button to select the
"
FA failure
"
level.
è
Fault code and "Reset?" request is displayed.
4
Use the rotary button to select "Yes".
5
Confirm the selection with a brief push of the rotary button.
è
Fault is reset.
6
Cancelling and jump back by pushing the Exit button again.
7
If there are several successive fault shutdowns, check the heat-
ing system (e.g. flue system, fuel supply).
INFORMATION
If more than 5 malfunctions are reset within a 15 minute
period the fault code E96 is displayed. Another release in
then only possible after 15 mins.
7.3
Burner setting
CAUTION
An inappropriate setting of the oil burner can lead to a pro-
hibited level of pollutant emissions, heavy contamination
and increased oil consumption.
▪ Burner setting should be carried out only by authorised
and recognised heating engineers.
7.3.1
Setting values
INFORMATION
In the "Blower speed" column, the settings values can vary
from the specified value depending on the air and flue gas
routing. Control of the excess air (Lambda) by means of
CO
2
or O
2
measurement is essential (CO
2
setpoint = 13.0 –
13.5 %; O
2
setpoint = 2.6 – 3.3 %).
