Start-up
WARNING
A A2 F set up and installed incorrectly may not operate
properly and can be dangerous for the health and safety of
individuals.
▪ The A2 F must only be started up by authorised and
trained heating specialists.
CAUTION
If the A2 F is not started up properly, it could lead to mater-
ial or environmental damage.
▪ Observe the information concerning water quality in ac-
cordance with
Chap. 1.2.5
.
▪ To prevent corrosion products and deposits, observe the
applicable engineering regulations (VDI 2035, BDH/
ZVSHK technical information "Scale formation").
▪ Measures for desalination, softening or hardness stabil-
isation are necessary if the filling and top-up water have
a high total hardness (>3 mmol/l - total of the calcium
and magnesium concentrations, calculated as calcium
carbonate).
We recommend the use of Fernox KSK limescale and
corrosion protector.
▪ During operation of the system, the water must be
checked at regular intervals on the building-side pres-
sure gauge (green range) or by querying the controller
(see accompanying controller operating manual). If ne-
cessary, correct the pressure by topping up with water.
Incorrect start-up voids the manufacturer's guarantee for the device.
If you have questions, please contact our Technical Customer Ser-
vice.
5.1
Initial commissioning
After the A2 F has been erected and fully connected, the technical
staff can be started up.
5.1.1
Requirements
▪ The A2 F is installed correctly. If a pressure unit is used as a sep-
arate oil pump, the installation location is also secured by a sealed
tank and a filter cup made of metal.
▪ The A2 F is fully connected.
▪ The heating and, if necessary, the hot water system are filled and
charged to the right pressure.
▪ The oil valves are open and the oil line is topped up.
5.1.2
Checks before start-up
1
Check all connections for leakage.
2
Check all items of the "Checklist before start-up" (see
Chap.
5.2
).
3
Log the test results in the checklist.
Only if
all points
on the checklist can be answered with
Yes
may
the A2 F be started up.
5.1.3
Start-up
The oil line must be completely vented at the beginning of the start-
up and the oil pressure must be checked.

, item.2)
2
Switch on the mains switch. Wait for the start phase.
▪ In the event of problems when starting, see
Chap. 10
.
3
Vent the oil line and measure the oil pressure on the vacuum
meter (see
Chap. 7.3.4
).
▪ The maximum vacuum must be 0.4 bar (0.2 bar is better).
4
Check the burner setting and adjust the flue gas quality if neces-
sary (see
Chap. 7.3.5
)
5
Configure the heating system on the RoCon BF controller.
▪ For configuration and explanation, see the enclosed "RoCon BF
controller" operating instructions -> chapter "Initial start-up
"
.
▪ Enter modified setting values in the corresponding table in the
operating instructions for the RoCon BF controller.

After start-up
1
Boiler cladding - Install the cover (see
Chap. 4.10
) and screw it
on.
