Parameters

hello-time SECONDS

Specifies the interval that a designated port will wait between the
periodic transmissionsof each configuration message. The range is
from 1 to 2 seconds.

forward-time SECONDS

Specifies the forward delay time used by STP to transition from the
listening to the learning states and learning to forwarding states. The
range is from 4 to 30 seconds.

max-age SECONDS

Specifies the maximum message age of BPDU. The range is from 6 to
40 seconds.

Default

The default value of the hello-time is 2 seconds.

The default value of the forward-time is 15 seconds.

The default value of the max-age is 20 seconds.

Command Mode

Global Configuration Mode.

Command Default Level

Level: 12.

Usage Guideline

This command is used to configure the SpanningTree timer value.

Example

This example shows how to configure the STP timers.

Default

By default, this option is enabled.
