ARP Settings
The
Address Resolution Protoco
l (ARP) converts IP addresses into physical addresses and maps the IP address to a MAC
address. ARP allows a host to communicate with other hosts only when the IP addresses of its neighbors are known. To
define ARP information:
1.
Click
Configuration > ARP Settings
.

ARP Settings Page
opens:

The ARP Settings Page contains the following fields:
Field
Description
Interface Name
Defines the interface (VLAN) name.
ARP Aging Time (1-65535)
Defines the amount of time (in seconds) that passes between
ARP Table
entry requests.
Following the
ARP Entry Age
period, the entry is deleted from the table. The range is 1
- 65535. The default value is 300 seconds.
IP Address
Defines the station IP address associated with the MAC address.
MAC Address
Defines the station MAC address associated in the ARP table with the IP address.
Static ARP Settings
Displays current static ARP settings table, detailing the user-defined interface name, IP
address, and MAC address of each entry.

Define the Interface Name
and
ARP Aging Time
fields.
3.
Click
. The ARP global setting is updated.
4.
Define the
IP Address
and
MAC Address
fields.
5.
Click
. The ARP settings are saved, and the device is updated.
