Viewing the Device
The device described in this section is a Fast Ethernet Managed Switch. Device management is performed using
an
Embedded Web Server
(EWS) or through a
Command Line Interface
(CLI). The device configuration is
performed via RS-232 interface.

Front Panel
DES-3252P is a high-performance Fast Ethernet switch that provides 48-Ports 10/100BASE-TX PoE Switch with
4 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and 2 combo SFP uplinks.
The following figure illustrates the DES-3252P front panel.

The device front panel is configured as follows:
•
48 10/100Base-TX ports
— RJ-45 TX auto-sensing switching ports. The RJ-45 ports are designated as ports
Ports 1-48.
•
2 SFP 100Base-FX/1000Base-X Fiber ports
— Two SFP ports or 2 Copper 100Base-T/1000Base-T ports
are designated as ports 49 and 50, which are also Combo ports.
