A wired connection to the PC(s) running the server is preferred over a wireless connection because the
PC may have to download video from the Internet while it is being played back to the device, thereby
increasing the bandwidth requirements for the PC connection. A wired connection is also recommended
for the best performance if using network-attached storage (NAS) devices.
Important!
To connect to a wireless network, you need to know:
•
Your wireless network name (SSID)
•
Your encryption key (if security is enabled)
If you have MAC filtering enabled on your router:
•
Add the wireless MAC address to the list of allowed devices for your network.
You can set up your system in this way, but this configuration is more susceptible to interference
problems than a configuration with only one wireless segment:
•
Wireless connection from the DivX Connected device to the network router.
•
Wireless connections from the network router to the DivX Connected Server PC.
