the unit for the first time follow the below instructions for mixing the KH test reagent before
proceeding.
MIXING THE KH TEST REAGENT
The KH Manager includes a 20ml bottle of standard concentrated reagent, this will make 1000ml of
solution when mixed with pure water. Additional reagent is available separately from your retailer
either as this standard concentrate 20ml bottle or as a double strength concentrate in larger sizes.
To mix the reagent please follow the below steps. It is important that the reagent is mixed carefully
and is not contaminated, failure to mix the reagent properly will give incorrect test results.
Remove the protective plastic covers from the digital scales.
Place the digital scales on a stable, flat and level surface then power on.
Switch the scales to read in grams by depressing the mode (M) button until ‘g’ is shown.
Sit a suitable clean empty container on the weighing platform that has a useable volume of
1000ml or greater.
Press the Tare button (T) to zero the scales.
Mixing the 20ml bottle of standard concentrate reagent (Supplied with the unit).
Weigh out exactly
980 grams
of pure water (RODI).
Add the complete
20ml
bottle of standard concentrate reagent.
Gently mix the solution.
Mixing the double strength concentrate reagent.
Weigh out exactly
990 grams
of pure water (RODI).
Add
10ml
bottle of double strength concentrate reagent.
Gently mix the solution.
When the KH Test Reagent has been mixed, log in to the Kamoer Remote app and tap on the device
icon for your KH Manager. The ‘Status page’ for the device should be displayed, if not tap on the
status icon in the bottom left, on this page it will show the volume trackers for the reagents. Tap on
the tile titled ‘KH Test Reagent’ and then select ‘Modify Directly’, enter the volume of reagent you
have mixed in ml. Once done tap ‘save’ in the top right corner and then the blue arrow in the top left
to return to the status page.
It is advisable to gently stir the reagent once a week to ensure the concentration remains constant.
CHECKING THE KH TEST REAGENT
The KH Manager has a built-in function to check that the test reagent has been mixed correctly and
is good to use. It is important that freshly made reagent is left to warm up to 25
0
C before performing
this check and that the pH probe has been accurately calibrated.
