6.3 Scenarios
6.3.1 PAD ON/OFF
a.
This simulates a Pads On or Pads Off scenario. It is initiated by pressing the PAD ON/PAD OFF key
on the Remote Controller.
b.
The PAD ON/PAD OFF key on the Remote Controller toggles the simulated condition of the pads.
When the pads are currently ON, pressing the PAD ON/PAD OFF key will turn the pads OFF. When
the pads are currently OFF, pressing the PAD ON/PAD OFF key will turn the pads ON.
c.
Upon turning the pads ON, the default simulated ECG rhythm is Normal Sinus Rhythm 80 bpm.
d.
Upon turning the pads OFF, the device will issue the “CHECK PADS” voice and text prompts.
6.3.2 LOW BAT
a.
This simulates a low battery condition. The scenario is entered by pressing the LOW BAT key on
the Remote Controller.
b.
When the LOW BAT key is pressed, the device does the following:
i.
Displays the text prompt “LOW BATTERY CODE:0001”
ii.
Emits short beeps in quick succession
iii.
Turns the ERROR light indicator ON
iv.
Turns OFF after approximately 5 seconds
6.3.3 NSR
a.
This is the default simulated ECG (80 bpm)
b.
There are three available beat rates, 80 bpm, 120 bpm, and 240 bpm.
c.
The heart beat rates are cycled through by pressing the NSR button repeatedly.
d.
The name of the ECG rhythm and the beat rate will be shown on the LCD before the said ECG
rhythm is displayed on the LCD screen and while the same ECG rhythm is running.
6.3.4 VF
a.
This is initiated by pressing the VF key on the Remote Controller.
b.
A Ventricular Fibrillation ECG rhythm will be simulated and fed to the Paramedic CU-ERT.
c.
The name of the ECG rhythm and the beat rate will be shown on the LCD before the said ECG
rhythm is displayed on the LCD screen and while the same ECG rhythm is running.
6.3.5 VT
a.
This is initiated by pressing the VT key on the Remote Controller
b.
A Ventricular Tachycardia ECG Rhythm will be simulated and fed to the Paramedic CU-ERT.
c.
There are two available beat rates for this ECG rhythm, 180 bpm and 240 bpm. The 180 bpm
monomorphic VT is non shockable while the 240 bpm monomorphic VT is shockable.
d.
The heart beat rates are cycled through by pressing the NSR button repeatedly.
e.
The name of the ECG rhythm and the beat rate will be shown on the LCD before the said ECG
rhythm is displayed on the LCD screen and while the same ECG rhythm is running.
6.3.6 Asystole
a.
This is initiated by pressing the ASYS key on the Remote Controller
b.
An Asystole ECG Rhythm will be simulated and fed to the Paramedic CU-ERT.
c.
The name of the ECG rhythm and the beat rate will be shown on the LCD before the said ECG
rhythm is displayed on the LCD screen.
