INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING
The instrument is supplied packed in such a manner as to best withstand standard shipping and ware-
housing conditions. Should you notice defects attributable to shipping when unpacking the instru-
ment, contact your installation service or the manufacturer.
Installing the Projector
The instrument is supplied completely assembled and ready for the type of installation requested:
-
Wall mounting:
secure the plate to the wall with screws. Install the projector support arm (similar
to that used on refraction units) to the plate.
-
Mounting on refraction unit:
insert the mounting pin and lock in place using the wrench sup-
plied with the instrument; insert the pin in the support arm on the refraction unit.
-
Table-top installation:
insert the sphere and lock in place using the wrench supplied with the
instrument.
Whatever the type of installation configuration ordered, the vertical and/or horizontal tilt of the pro-
jector will always require adjustment. Use the T wrench (19) supplied with the projector to loosen the
screws (6). Bring the projector into perfect alignment with the projection screen (17) and retighten
the screws (6).
Check that the voltage selector on the power socket (8) is set to the voltage at which the instrument
will be used (120V AC or 230 V AC). If necessary, change the voltage setting as explained below:
- Extract the fuse-holder box.
- Rotate until the desired voltage value appears in the window.
- Check that the fuse rating is compatible with working voltage (see TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS)
and if necessary replace the fuses.
- Replace the box.
Check that the projector is switched off; plug the power cord into the line socket.
- Check that your line voltage is the same as that reported on the instrument data plate. Should the
values differ, contact your customer service or the manufacturer. Your entire electrical system must
comply with the CEI 64-4 standard or the more recent CEI 64-8 sect. 710 (Electrical Systems for
Medical Use). In case of doubt, contact your electrical system installation and maintenance service.
- Never use multiple plugs, adapters, or extension cords to connect the instrument plug to the line
socket.
- When unplugging the instrument from line power supply, even in an emergency, grasp the plug
only; never pull the cord to disconnect the plug.
Attention
Read this manual, and this chapter in
particular, carefully before switching
on and using the instrument.
