Tips To Help Avoid Becoming A Victim Of Crime
This section contains useful tips on your personal safety. Your decision to
purchase a Crime Guard
vehicle security system should be part of an overall attitude
of avoiding threatening situations and the protection of yourself, your family and your
possessions. A vehicle security system does not guarantee that a vehicle will never
suffer theft or vandalism. No product or service can offer that. A vehicle security
system is a deterrent- by "hardening the target" you are making it more difficult for
a thief or vandal to victimize you. The main factor in staying safe and secure, is to use
common sense. Please review these hints:
1) Never leave anything of value inside your vehicle in plain sight. "Smash and grab"
theft is on the increase.
2) Always be aware of your surroundings. An alert and aware person is less likely
to become a crime victim than someone who is preoccupied and easily approached.
3) While driving in high crime areas, always keep your doors locked and your

Congratulations on your purchase of your new Crime Guard security system and
on joining over 8 million people worldwide who have trusted their vehicle's security
to the designers of Omega Research & Development, Inc. In learning how to operate
your security system, please become familiar with the following three principal
components: the Remote Transmitter, the Red LED Status Indicator and the Easy
Valet Switch.
The Remote Transmitter: Each security system comes with two pre-learned
transmitters, but can learn up to 4 different transmitters. The transmitter has three
buttons: one large button in the middle and two smaller buttons. This system is pre-
programmed, through a built-in learning routine, to have the transmitter buttons work
in the following configuration:
The large button is used to arm, disarm and panic the security system.
The small left button is used, in conjunction with the large button, to operate remote
sensor bypass, remote chirp elimination and remote valet. Used alone it operates
the channel #3 output.
The small right button can be used to operate the trunk release feature.
The Red LED Status Indicator: Informs you of 16 possible conditions the
security system can be in and also serves as a visual deterrent to break-ins and theft.
