Use the following settings to create a rule for the desired outlets:
Rule Number: Displays the rule number for ping monitoring. A maximum of 20 rules can be
applied.
Target Outlet: Select one or more target outlets from the drop-down list to apply the defined
rule. If the ping request is not returned after a preset number of continuous pings, the outlet
feeding the monitored device cycles off and on to reboot the device.
Target Website/IP Address: Click the Edit ( ) button to enter up to a maximum of 3 websites
or IP addresses that will be used to decide if the target outlets should be power cycled. Click Test
to test if the power controller can communicate with the entered IP address or URL. It's
recommended to enter as many target addresses as possible to reduce the possibility of a false
ping failure. If the ping monitor connects to the device IP address, the status appears as Online,
otherwise it appears as Offline.
Ping Timeout (seconds): Click the up and down arrow buttons or enter the Ping Timeout
(seconds) limit manually to set the amount of time the power controller waits to perform
another ping attempt after a ping failure. The time range can be set between 1-60 seconds.
Ping Retry Attempts: Click the up and down arrow buttons or enter manually to set up to 10 Ping
Retry Attempts.
