4. Take up any slack in the line by pulling the free end of the line towards the anchor
until the line is tight. Sit down carefully until your full weight is taken up by the line.
Avoid exposing the equipment to dynamic loads.
5. Ensure that the descent is not in conflict with moveable machinery, obstacles or
live cable. The line must not lie over sharp edges. It is advisable to take the line
out of the bag and drop it to the ground if you are unsure about the line reaching
the ground. This must not be done if the line can get stuck on moveable machinery
or other obstacles.
6. Start the descent using the Smartline X fig 3:A .
