5. If the oil level is low add more oil. SAE 10W-30 engine oil for
4-stroke engines is recommended for normal use (-5–25 C°).
The oil should have an API service class rating of at least SJ.
Refuelling
1. Make sure that the generator is flat and level and in a well-ventilated place. Unscrew the fuel cap (8).
2. Only use fresh, clean petrol with an octane rating of at least 95 and containing no more than 10 % ethanol.
The use of fuel with a content of ethanol higher than 10 % could lead to engine damage which is not
covered by the guarantee.
3. Screw the fuel cap back on, close the air vent (7) if the generator is not to be used straight away.
4. Wipe up any fuel spills immediately.
Starting the engine
The generator should be placed on a firm, flat surface with good ventilation and at least 3 feet away from
building walls and ceilings.
Note:
The generator’s engine cooling air inlet vents are located on the underside
of the generator. The generator must not be placed on any soft material which could block the air inlets and
cause the engine to overheat.
1. Make sure that all appliances connected to the generator are turned off.
2. Open the fuel cap air vent (7) by turning it clockwise to
ON
.
Operating instructions
Preparations
Check the oil level before switching the generator on
1. Remove the screws fastening the maintenance cover (20) (the big cover next to the starter handle).
2. Make sure that the generator is on a flat and level surface. Remove the oil filler cap (4) and wipe the dipstick clean.
3. Fully insert the dipstick into the filler neck without screwing the cap back on.
4. Remove the dipstick and read the oil level. There is a minimum level mark about 1 cm up from the bottom
of the dipstick. The dipstick hole is also the oil filler neck. The oil level should be between the mark on
the dipstick and the bottom of the filler bottom of the thread on the oil filler neck.
