VOICE OPERATING SWITCH (VOX)
VOX Connections to the IPC-8000
The IPC located inside the IPC-8000 can be connected to an external system (such as an FACP or
paging system) intended to receive audio from WAVES, are available for configuration using the
VOX Operating mode. Associated scripts for VOX IPCs will include the “
Play”, “PlayAudioSource”
commands.
Refer to the WAVES 8 Administrator Manual for configuration of the IPC and
details regarding the operation and sequence of events for connecting the VOX feature.
When an IPC is configured for the VOX Operating mode, Relay #1 is automatically dedicated for
PTT operation. In VOX Mode, Relay #1 will activate when audio is playing and deactivate when
audio is not playing to the Node. If audio from WAVES to the VOX IPC is lost, PTT Relay #1 will
automatically return to the normal state.
