Setting up the Drive for the Application
Warnings
Before connecting the
AC
supply to the Drive you will need
to check the following:
The power and signal wiring is correct
Motor installation is correct and safe
The motor shaft is not exposed
Terminals B2 and B3 of the Drive are open-circuit, or
contacts connected to them are open
Terminals B4 and B5 of the Drive are connected to
0V common, or contacts connected to them are closed
The SPEED potentiometer is set at minimum (wiper at
0V common)
This product uses software which is controlled by
parameters. The product will perform to specification with
the setting of correct and logical values. Incorrect setting
of parameters is potentially hazardous.
Adjustment of the parameters must be carried out only by
skilled and trained personnel.
In this User Guide, when the value of a parameter is referred to, the number
of the parameter is shown in square brackets [...]. For example,
the value of
0.01
is shown as [0.01].
6.1 Preparation

Ensure the Drive has been connected in accordance with the
instructions in Chapter 4
Installing the Drive
.

Ensure the motor is connected to the Drive, but the motor shaft is not
connected to a machine, or is exposed.

When the Drive is connected for operation in Terminal mode, ensure
the following:
EXTERNAL TRIP
contact is closed
RUN FORWARD
and
RUN REVERSE
contacts are open
SPEED
potentiometer is set at minimum (wiper at 0V common)

Ensure the terminal cover is fitted to the Drive. If the cover needs to
be removed, the
AC
supply must first be disconnected for eight
minutes.
Connect
the
AC
supply to the Drive. The display should show
