9 Care & Maintenance
To get the most out of your eBike in terms of function and riding
enjoyment, the drive system requires regular service and care.
9.1 General
Regular care is particularly important to elec-
tric contacts and the battery holder on the
bicycle. Clean your eBike regularly with warm
water, a damp cloth/sponge, and, if necessary,
a small amount of cleaning agent.
Every time you clean your eBike, check for
damage, material deformation, and cracks
and, if in doubt, arrange for a bicycle dealer
to carry out an error analysis.
Intensive cleaning of the eBike with
a steam jet, high-pressure cleaner, or
powerful water jet can damage electron-
ic components. Ideally, you should clean
your drive system with a damp cloth.

9.2 Storage and care of the battery
The lithium-ion battery must be stored only
b 5 and + 45° C (i 10 to + 25° C)
for longer periods. Improper storage outside this
temperature range can result in a permanent
loss of capacity and premature aging. Even
small self-discharge can result in deep discharge
with a permanent loss of battery capacity. With
this in mind, your battery should be charged to
30 - 50 % of its capacity before longer periods
of storage to avoid deep discharge. If the bat-
tery is stored for a longer period, it should be
trickle-charge to its optimum level of 30 - 50 %
every three months.
Your battery should be stored only in dry
rooms or containers and protected as far as
possible against direct sunlight.
Defective components can cause in-
juries and damage. Defective parts
should be replaced immediately by a
bicycle dealer.
Caution
A battery short circuit caused by excessive
levels of humidity and high storage tem-
peratures can present a risk of explosion
and fire.
