5 Operation
With the intuitive remote control at the left handle bar you have full
control over all drive system features.
5.1 Switching the system on and off
Before you can operate your Conti® eBIKE
SYSTEM, you need to switch on the display.
To do so, press
. The main menu appears.
After a few seconds for the system to start
up, the system information is shown on the
display. The eBike is now ready for use.
To switch off the drive system, press again.
The display switches off and is no longer
illuminated (black screen). You should always
switch off the system before removing the
battery or disconnecting the battery cable. If
the power is interrupted abruptly, the system
may not shut down properly and the recorded
per-formance data may not be saved.
5.2 Motor assistance
The eBike motor assists you automatically
while cycling and adapts the assistance to
your pedal force. The motor adapts to your
pedal force. The harder you pedal, the greater
the assistance provided by the motor. This ap-
plies regardless of the assistance level. If you
pedal harder, this is registered by the torque
sensor, which then supports accordingly. The
drive system switches itself off at speeds of 25
km/h and above. As soon as the speed drops
below 25 km/h, the motor again provides
assistance while the cyclist is pedaling.
The gear ratio, which is selected via the gear
shift, has an effect on the speed, range, and
wear of the drive system. The most efficient
cycling style can be achieved by maintaining
a constant pedal RPM of approximately 60.
The motor is most efficient at this speed.
5.3 Setting the assistance level
In the main menu, press / to switch
between the levels. The range changes
depending on the chosen assistance level.
