8 Transport
Follow the instructions of your bicycle manaufacturer or dealer
for the transportation of your eBike or battery.
8.1 Transporting the eBike
When transporting your eBike by car, remove
the battery from the holder and transport it
separately. If you intend to transport your
eBike by plane, car, or train, the following
points must be observed:
› To find out what transport conditions
apply to your eBike, contact the relevant
flight or train company.
› Only attach your eBike to a car using a
rack designed specifically for that pur-
pose. If in doubt, contact your specialist
bicycle dealer.
› Make sure you know how to mount and
demount your bicycle on the rack before
transporting it.
Tip: Perform thorough checks to ensure that
your bicycle is securely attached.
8.2 Transporting the battery
The batteries are subject to the requirements
of dangerous goods legislation. When trans-
porting the battery, please note:
› The sender is responsible for any damage
caused when transporting defective bat-
teries.
› Only transport the battery if the housing
is intact.
› Defective batteries may be transported
only as approved individual shipments.
› In the case of warranty claims to be pro-
cessed by the dealer, the dealer is re-
sponsible for transporting the defective
battery.
› Cover open contacts with tape and pack-
age the battery in such a way that it does
not move around inside the packaging.
› Never transport the battery yourself.
If you have any questions about transporting
the batteries, contact your authorized bicycle
dealer, who will take care of proper transport.
