Clean the scanner surface
Clean the flat surface of the scanner so that dirt and dust are not dragged
into the scan area with the original during scanning.
Open the scanner lid by sliding the lid
release latches
Next open the scanner lid using the release latches at the back of the lid.

Stand at the front of the scanner
•
Push down on the lid while at the same time sliding both release
latches
towards the center of the scanner until you feel them unlock
•
Use your other fingers to grip the edge of the lid
