13. Inserting/Replacing the Illuminant
CAUTION!
The illuminant must only be inserted or replaced in a powered-down state. Otherwise, there is
a danger of fatal electric shock!
Turn the power off and remove the electric circuit fuse or switch off the circuit breaker. Assure
it against an unauthorised re-start, e.g. with a danger sign.
Check that the mains connection is free of current e.g. with an appropriate tester.
• If necessary, backup the data of the internal memory.
• Separate the surveillance camera from the mains voltage.
Let the housing of the surveillance camera and the illuminant cool down before touching it and
exchanging the illuminant. Otherwise there is a risk of burns! The illuminant and the housing of the
surveillance camera get very hot during operation.
• Remove the attachment screw of the front cover and carefully take off the frame and the glass panel. Careful! The
glass panel may drop out! Danger of injury!
• Pull the defective illuminant from the holder. Do not apply any force; the illuminant may break, danger of injury. If
required, use suitable protective gloves.
• Insert a suitable R7S illuminant (halogen rod). Do not touch the glass with your bare fingers! Use suitable protection.
Otherwise the illuminant may become discoloured in later operation.
You may only use an illuminant with at most 500W. However, you may certainly use an illuminant with a lesser
power if required.
• Close the front lid again carefully.
