9. Preparations for Installation
Observe Chapter „5. Safety Information“.
The room thermostat must only be connected to the mains voltage by a
qualified specialist (e.g. electrician) familiar with the relevant regulations
(e.g. VDE)!
Improper work carried out at the mains supply endangers not only your life
but also the lives of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install
it yourself but ask a qualified technician.
• Mount the room thermostat on stable surfaces only. Use the screws or dowels
appropriate for the surface: The product must be operated stationarily installed.
• The room thermostat must be voltage-free during installation.
Turn off the power on all poles of the mains supply by removing the respective
electric circuit fuse or switching off the circuit breaker. Protect it against
unauthorised re-activation, e.g. with a danger sign. Also switch off the
respective fault-current protective switch.
Check that the mains connection is free of current, e.g., with an appropriate
tester.
This applies accordingly if only low voltage is to be supplied through the
switching output, since this may cause short circuit!
• Observe the maximum contact load capacity of the internal switching relay
according to Chapter 15 („Technical Data“) for connection.
• To ensure that the room thermostat works properly, do not mount it close to
radiators, electrical devices or windows. Also avoid direct sunlight.
