6) When using a forklift, stacker or similar equipment to un/load the container,
the
container must be fastened onto the loading dock
with the dock’s permanent mech-
anism or loading straps, to prevent forward movement.
- The container can be dismounted from the CFP set in accordance with the instruc-
tions for dismounting a container from CF/CFL legs (shown below).
Demounting procedure (CF, CFP & CFL SET):
1) Prior to approaching the container, lower the vehicle and chassis suspension to its
lowest position.
2) The chassis should be reversed lengthways in a straight line under the mounted con-
tainer, until the chassis twistlocks line up with the relevant corner castings. The truck
and chassis must not come into contact with the CF-legs.
3) Once in place, raise the truck and/or chassis suspension to its highest position.
4) To remove the CF-legs, they should first be returned to the folded position
figure 3
.
The first branch
5
is released by first removing the retainer ring connected to the posi
-
tion bolt
4
. The bolt
4
can then be slid out and the branch
5
extended upwards. Once the
branch is rotated upwards, replace the bolt
4
and ring. Correspondingly, the second
branch
5
is extended and secured, resulting in the two branches
5
forming a upwards ‘V’
shape.
5) Push lower end of the leg towards the container to release the magnetic clamp
1
from
the container wall.
6) Rotate each folded leg into a horizontal orientation
figure 3
and remove from the cor-
ner casting.
7) Secure the container to the chassis with the twist locks for transport. The truck and
chassis can now be driven away, exercising due caution.
CAUTION
:
- Great care must be taken when reversing a chassis under a mounted container, the
chassis must not come into contact with any of the CF-legs. Ensure the truck and chas-
sis are straight and positioned correctly before reversing.
- When driving away, drive straight until the entire length of the chassis is no longer
under the container before turning.
- Standard container loading procedures should be used for containers mounted on
CF-legs (e.g. even load).
- The surface must be stable, level and not able to subside. - If using a forklift inside a
mounted container, the container must be securely fastened to the loading bay.
- A safe area, where persons not involved in mounting or demounting process should
not be allowed to walk, should be marked out beforehand.
- The level of the chassis must be lower than the level of the bottom of the container
before reversing underneath it.
- Transportation of a container mounted on CF-legs by ship or train is forbidden.
- If a ConFoot productis damaged in any way, the set must not be used until it has been
