GENERAL
3.1
INTENDED PURPOSE
The cartridge filter with pressure reducer is a combination of:
/ Backflow preventer
/ Cartridge filter
/ Pressure reducer
Please refer to the chapter 4.1 “INTENDED USE” for use restrictions.
They can also lead to malfunctions on valves, control and regulating devices and sensitive equipment, and
can cause other technical malfunctions in the house installation.
The pressure reducer ensures, that the adjusted discharge pressure downstream of the cartridge filter
with pressure reducer is maintained, even if the supply pressure rises, e.g. during pressure peaks over-
night. If the supply pressure falls under the adjusted pressure, then also the discharge pressure falls ac-
cordingly. A cartridge filter with pressure reducer cannot work as a booster station.
3.2

Please check the consignment immediately after unpacking for completeness and transport damage, as
later complaints can not be accepted.
This cartridge filter with pressure reducer is suitable for use in cold drinking wa-
ter (water of the municipal water supply) up to a maximum water temperature of
30 °C (86 °F). It is absolutely essential that the manufacturer/supplier will be con-
sulted prior to any operation of the device using water of a different quality, re-
spectively with water that contains additives.

The cartridge filter with pressure reducer removes coarse and fine-grained parti-
cles from the water which are larger than or equal in size to the mesh size of the
cartridge filter with pressure reducer. Particles smaller than the supplied mesh
size and impurities causing turbidity cannot be filtered out of the water. However,
these do not cause any problems.
The coarse and fine-grained particles can cause impurity induced corrosion dam-
age in the form of shallow pits and pitting (aeration cells) in cold water pipes and
hot water supply systems and must therefore be removed.
