Replacing the Server Feature Board Battery
WARNING: The Server Feature Board contains a lithium battery. There is a risk of fire
and chemical burn if the battery is improperly handled. Do not disassemble, crush,
puncture, or short external contacts, dispose of in water or fire, or expose the battery
to temperatures higher than 60
°
C (140
°
F).
CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage electronic components. Be sure that
you are properly grounded (earthed) before beginning any installation procedure. Refer to
“Electrostatic Discharge Information” earlier in this chapter for more information.
When replacing the battery on the Server Feature Board, use a CR2032 3-volt lithium battery.
To replace the battery from the Server Feature Board:
1. Complete the preparation procedures. Refer to “Preparation Procedures” earlier in this
chapter.
2. Remove the front bezel. Refer to “Front Bezel” earlier in this chapter.
3. Remove the access panel. Refer to “Access Panel” earlier in this chapter.
4. Remove the Server Feature Board. Refer to “Server Feature Board” earlier in this
chapter.
5. Locate the battery on the Server Feature Board. Release the battery by pressing on the
battery holder latch (1), and then lift the battery away from the holder (2).
6. Install the replacement battery into the proper position with the positive (+) side up.
