6. Preparations for commissioning

27

The compressed air line system is connected at the
compressed air supply of the screw compressor
(-1- Fig. 12).

For this you should use a flexible connection
(e.g. compressed air hose, compensator).

Europe-Version:

D110H RS

3“

D50H RS + D75H RS

2"

USA/CANADA-Version:

D110H RS

3“ NPT

D50 H RS + D75H RS

2" NPT

Important

When connecting the compressor on the mains
side to the compressed air system available at the
customer

ʻ

s end, check the operating temperatures

and operating pressures required and examine the
required connecting flange or the connection
thread for proper functioning.

In the case of connections by means of connecting
hoses, take appropriate measures to prevent
whipping of the loose end in the event that the
hose connection tears off.

Note

After-coolers, separators, collecting reservoirs and the
compressed air lines must be equipped with drain
facilities at their lowest points to drain collected liquids.
These facilities have to be fitted to allow the
observance of the draining of such liquids.

Hand-operated drain facilities have to be actuated in
accordance with the operating instructions.

Automatic drain facilities have to be checked for proper
function at regular intervals. When draining conden-
sates into a collecting line, which also collects the
condensate from other machines, make sure that the
collecting line is free from back pressure at all lines.

When draining condensate, observe the corresponding
regulations for waste water disposal.

6.3

Water connection for W type

Danger

If open cooling towers are used in the cooling water
circuit, it is possible for legionella (Legionella
pneumophila) and other bacteria to grow and
spread. The growth and spread of bacteria must be
prevented by corresponding service and water
treatment methods.

Important

The cooling water must be drained if there is a
danger of frost occurring or in case of a prolonged
shut-down of the screw compressor system.

Always perform maintenance, servicing and repair
work carefully.

Note

The following items must be noted for operation of
water-cooled screw compressor systems:

Cooling water must not be discharged
indiscriminately into public waste-water and
drain systems. Uncontrolled overflow of
oil-separator basins into public waste-water
systems must be prevented.

Waste-water law provisions must be carefully
adhered to.

The cooling-water circuit is completely installed in the
screw compressor system.

The water connections on the water-cooled version are
as follows:

Water inlet:

G 1 1/4" (1 1/4" - NPT)

Water outlet:

G 1 1/4" (1 1/4" - NPT)

Permissible cooling-water data:

Cooling-water pressure:  >>min./max.<<:    2/5 bar

Cooling-water inlet temp.:  >>min./max.<<: 5 / 35 °C

Cooling-water outlet temp.:

>>max.<<: 45 °C

The cooling-water requirement at maximum operating
pressure, referred to 12 to 15 °C water inlet
temperature,

Δ

 t = 10 °C is:

D110H RS W

approx. 170 l/min

D75H RS W

approx. 120 l/min

D50H RS W

approx. 80 l/min

This data is based on fresh water and the cooling-water
quality recommended by CompAir (see Chapter 6.3.1).
Please contact CompAir if the cooling-water data
diverges from this.

The flow of cooling-water for the water cooler at
commissioning can be adjusted by means of a manual
control valve.
