The Infant Car Seat Base has a Recline
Adjustment Foot to help adjust the base
installation angle and provide the proper
seat back recline for the car seat

The base also has a Recline Indicator
that measures and defines the installation
angle of the base that provides the proper
seat back recline for the car seat

To adjust the base installation angle and car seat recline:
Park the vehicle on a level surface.
Place base on vehicle seat and
check position of level indicator.
• Yellow patch exactly in window is
correct
(fig. c)
. Yellow with some
orange also visible is acceptable.
• Yellow with any red visible is NOT
acceptable
(fig. d)
. This can occur on
some flatter vehicle seats, and base is too
reclined. Adjust base so no red is visible.

• Rear-facing car seat must be properly reclined:
- Too reclined can result in injury or ejection.
- Too upright can result in breathing difficulties.
WARNING
- DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur
