From this single-page Surge Menu Screen, you are able to:
a)
define the
SURGE
type,
b)
define the coupling mode (terminals
ON
which the surge is coupled),
c)
define the number of surges (
TESTS
) to be applied,
d)
define the
DELAY
time between surges,
e)
SAVE
the defined surge parameters to memory;
and
f)
execute the defined surge event(s) (
RUN
the test)
Each of these functions are explained in detail in the following sections.

Surge Menu Items
6.2.1.1 Surge

The top line of the display, ‘
SURGE:
’, defines the type of surge
waveform to be applied. Use the keys on the front panel
to switch between following surge types:

TYPE
A-0800
2)
TYPE
A-1500
3)
TYPE
B-1000
4)
TYPE
B-1500
5)
PL-2500
To select the surge type, press the key.

Mode

The second line, ‘
ON:
’, allows the user to select the front panel
output terminals to which the surge is to be coupled (
coupling
mode
). Use the
keys on the front panel to switch
between coupling modes. The coupling mode options will vary
based on the selected surge type.
