Appendix II
Safety Features
1. Electronic Self-Test
Each time the pump is switched on, the electronics system runs an automatic self-test.
The Pump is checked to make sure it is working correctly.
If any faults are detected, you should contact your EBME/Technical Service Department.
2. Infusion Lines
Only standard infusions sets with LUER lock connections (A708V/A718V: and Anti Free-Flow Clamp)
which have been validated and approved by CODAN ARGUS AG are to be used.
The pump must be appropriately calibrated for each type of set.
Operation outside of these parameters could jeopardize patient safety.
Only infusion lines whose expiry date has not been exceeded may be used. Irrespective of this,
infusion lines must not be used if they are older than five years.
Infusion lines must be regularly replaced: manufacturer’s guidelines apply.
