Installing the interface unit
Earthing is an essential part of the installation. An optional earthing
kit is available for ground installations and comprises an earth rod,
a copper strip, and a compression clamp.
To install the interface unit:

Attach the interface unit to the bottom of the mast using the
U-bolts provided.
CAUTION:
The length of the earth strap between the
interface unit and the earth rod must be as
short as possible.

Provide an earth point as close as possible to the interface
unit.

Fold a piece of 50 mm × 0.5 mm copper strip back on itself
twice for 30 mm.

Drill an 8 mm hole through all three layers.

Remove the nut from the earth bolt on the side of the
interface unit.

Coat the bolt with Alminox conductive grease.

Place the drilled copper strip onto the bolt, then secure with
the nut.

Run the copper strip to the earth point via the shortest path,
trimming off any excess copper strip.

Coat the earth point, copper strip and fastener with Alminox
conductive grease at the common point of contact.

TBD include a picture of the installed and earthed interface
unit
Secure the copper strip to the earth point using the
fastener.

Roll out the coaxial cable to the top of the mast.
