Troubleshooting guide
The shredder
doesn't start.
• Is the extension cable intact and securely connected to both
the wall socket and the shredder?
• Is the wall socket energised? Check the RCD.
• Has the motor overload cut-out tripped? (refer to the
Motor
overload cut-out
section for instructions about resetting it).
• Check that the collection box release catch/safety switch is
all the way up.
The material in
the hopper is not
feeding down.
Check that the blade drum is rotating in the right direction (refer
to the
Reversing the blade to clear jams
section).
The collection box might be full – empty it if necessary.
The shredded
material comes
out in chains.
Adjust the pressure plate (refer to the
Adjusting the pressure
plate
section).
