Fasten the workpiece securely.
Use clamps or screw clamps where possible to allow you to handle the workpiece
with both hands. This is safer than holding the workpiece with one hand.

Do not overreach.
Make sure you always stand firmly and well-balanced.
14.
Maintain the tools.
Assure they are clean and that the blades are sharp to achieve the optimal effect
and a safe result. Follow the recommendations in the manual pertaining to greasing
and replacement of parts. Check the power cord regularly, and if it is damaged it
should be replaced by a qualified service technician. Check all extension cords
regularly to make sure they are not damaged. Make sure the handles of the
machine/tool and levers are clean, dry, and completely free of oil, grease, etc.

Turn off the power.
Unplug the device and push the emergency brake, if there is one, before service
and when replacing parts such as planing irons, drill bits, sanding belts, or blades.

Remove all keys and service tools.
Make it a habit to verify that all spanners and service tools are removed from
the machine before turning on the power.

Avoid unintentional start.
Do not carry a tool with your finger on the power switch if it is plugged in.
Assure the power switch is OFF when plugging in the device.

Use the correct extension cords.
If using extension cords outdoors, use only those intended for outdoor use.
Use extension cords with sufficient range, unroll the entire cord.

Use common sense and caution.
Think through each task before performing it, so that it is performed in a safe
manner. Never use the machine/tool when you are tired, under the influence of
medication, etc.

Make sure that all parts are undamaged. Before starting the tool, make
sure that:

all covers and additional parts are undamaged and operate correctly
• that movable parts can rotate freely and are aimed in the right direction
• that no moveable parts can get caught, that no defect has occurred, and
other circumstances that may affect the operation of the task.
A damaged cover or other part should be repaired by a qualified technician or
replaced. Damaged power cords and power switches must always be replaced
by a qualified technician. Never use the tool if you are unable to switch it off or
start it in a safe manner.

Use recommended attachments.
The use of not recommended attachments may cause accidents or personal injury.

Repair by a qualified technician.
The tool complies with all safety regulations. Repairs of the tool must always
be performed by a qualified professional, using original parts, or the tool may
cause accidents or personal injury.
