– Unscrew the motor oil filling screw (12)
and remove.
– Read off the oil level on the scale on the
underside of the motor oil filling screw.
The oil stand must be placed between
[A]
and
[B]
.
Cleaning/replacing spark plugs

– Remove spark plug connector (11).
– Unscrew the spark plug.
– Check the electrode for discoloration.
Standard colour: Light brown
– Check electrode spacing. Correct spac-
ing: 0.7–0.8 mm
Cleaning the spark plug
– Remove rust deposits from the electrode
with a wire brush.
Replacing the spark plug
– Insert the cleaned or new spark plug and
tighten by hand.
– Tighten the hand-tightened spark plug
using a spark plug wrench by a further
quarter of a turn. Do not turn it further as
this will damage the thread.
– Affix the spark plug connector (11) firmly
back onto the spark plug.
Storage, transportation
Storage
– Allow the unit to cool down before stor-
ing.
– Store the device in a dry and well venti-
lated area.
When taken out of operation
Before storing for longer periods of time,
make sure there is no fuel in the device.
– Empty the tank.
– Start the engine and allow it to run until
the engine switches itself off.
Transporting the device in a motor vehicle
– Allow the device to cool down.
– Empty the tank.
– Secure the device from shifting and tip-
ping.
Troubleshooting
What to do when something doesn’t
work …
In many cases small defects can lead to a
malfunction. You will usually be able to deal
with these yourself. Please refer to the table
below before contacting your local OBI mar-
ket. This may save you a lot of effort and
quite often money.

Do not touch the spark plug connec-
tor or the spark plug while the motor
is running.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage to the device!
Only use wire brushes with brass
bristles to clean the spark plug. Any
other bristle type will damage the
electrode!
NOTICE!
Risk of damage to the device!
Only screw a spark plug into place
when the engine is cold.
DANGER!
Risk of injury!
During maintenance and cleaning
work, when changing work tools and
when transporting, the motor should
be switched off!
DANGER!
Risk of injury!
Unprofessional repairs may mean
that your unit will no longer operate
safely. This endangers you and your
environment.
