Electrolyte Trays

ELECTROLYTE TRAY REMOVAL

Turn the key switch OFF and remove the key. Place the Forward/Reverse switch in NEUTRAL and set the
park brake. Chock the wheels.

Disconnect the battery set and discharge the controller.

See Disconnecting the Batteries – Electric Vehicles,

Section 1, Page 1-3.

Remove the two self-threading screws (1) from driver-side of electrolyte tray (2 or 3) using a 3/8 inch socket

(Figure 4-14, Page 4-26)

Remove the two self-threading screws (1) from passenger-side of electrolyte tray (2 or 3) using a 3/8 inch socket.

Remove electrolyte tray (2 or 3) from underneath vehicle.

ELECTROLYTE TRAY INSTALLATION

Place electrolyte tray (2 or 3) underneath vehicle

(Figure 4-14, Page 4-26)

Lift driver-side of electrolyte tray (2 or 3) to chassis and align screw holes.

Install two self-threading screws (1) into holes using a 3/8 inch socket. Tighten screws to 50 in·lb (5.6 N·m).

Repeat previous steps at passenger-side of electrolyte tray (2 or 3).

Connect the battery set.

See Connecting the Batteries – Electric Vehicles on page 1-4.
