Quick Couplers
To Connect: Remove dirt or debris from the surface of both the male and female couplers and from the outside
diameter of the male coupler. Install the male coupler (1) into the female coupler. Full connection is made when the
ball sleeve (2) slides forward onto the female coupler. Visually check the couplers for corroding, cracking, damage or
excessive wear. If any of these conditions exist, the coupler(s) must be replaced.
To Disconnect: Hold the male coupler (1). Retract the sleeve (2)
(Figure 18)
on the female coupler until the couplers
disconnect. Install the dust covers (if equipped) on the couplers after they have been disconnected.
WARNING
• Hydraulic fluid, tubes, fittings and quick couplers can get hot when running vehicle and attachments.
Be careful when connecting and disconnecting quick couplers.
Relieve Hydraulic Pressure
Hydraulic pressure in the auxiliary circuit can make it difficult to connect or disconnect the hydraulic couplers.
With the engine stopped (key switch OFF) and attachment flat on the ground, move the auxiliary hydraulic switch (1) to
the right (2) and to the left (3)
(Figure 17)
several times. This will relieve hydraulic pressure that is in the auxiliary circuit.
