1.5 PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
The measurement of the actual tension in a web is made
by sensing, with strain gage transducers, the force on a
sensing roll caused by the tension in the web. The
electrical signal from the transducers is registered on the
tension indicator meter as the total tension.
