ASSEMBLING THE END FRAME KIT COMPONENTS
Consult the end frame diagrams at the back of these
instructions
before
you begin. Assistance is required to
assemble the end frame.
ATTENTION:
These instructions describe the assembly of
the 20' wide end frame.
ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL THE VERTICAL SUPPORTS
The following steps describe one way to assemble and set
the vertical supports.
1. If necessary, loosen and pull the bonnet portion of the main cover (if equipped) up and over the end rafter to allow
access to the end rafter. (May not apply to all covers or buildings.)
2. Using the dimensions (see End Frame Dimensions diagram), locate and mark the positions of the vertical supports.
end of each support will extend into a ground anchor hole. Cut each vertical tube assembly to a length that allows
the bottom end to extend into the ground anchor holes
at a minimum depth of 12"-18"
so they can be secured with
concrete. If the hole is deep enough, you do not need to cut the supports.
(See note on Page 3 and Page 10 for
cutting instructions regarding the vertical supports.)
Assemble all verticals
before
you cut to length so you do
not cut incorrectly. Consult a knowledgeable contractor if needed.
Do not remove the swaged/tapered end!
5. Using the End Frame Diagram—Connections diagram at the back of these instructions, attach the upper ends of
the assembled vertical supports to the end rafter using the 1/2" fasteners.
6. After the vertical supports are in position, plumb, and the correct distance apart, secure the supports in the ground
holes using concrete. Verify that the Tek screws used to splice the supports are in a position that will not interfere
with the installation of an end panel (if equipped). Reposition Tek screws if needed.
NOTE:
Concrete should remain at least 2"-4" below ground level so that it does not interfere with construction and
the installation of other end frame components (if equipped).
3. Dig a 10"-12" diameter hole at the locations found in previous step to a depth
that is
below the geographic frost line
. (Minimum depth is 24".)
4. Measure the distances from the marked positions at ground level to the end
rafter and assemble two (2) vertical supports. Insert the swaged end of a
100" pipe into the plain end of another and secure with a Tek screw.
ATTENTION:
When attached to the end rafter or building, the lower (plain)
