Charging Up the Battery
PLEASE NOTE!
■
Switch off the device before you charge it.
• To be able to charge the battery, it must be inserted in the device.
• It is essential that you charge up the battery (

) fully before you
fi
rst use the
device in order to achieve the maximum charging capacity. The
fi
rst charging
process will last for approx. 8 hours.
• If the battery is fully discharged during use, it will take approx. 4 – 6 hours for
the battery to be recharged.
• The battery status is indicated by a battery symbol with four bars in the bat-
tery status display (

). Each of the four bars represents approx. 25% battery
power. If none of the bars is lit up, the battery needs to be charged.
Before inserting the battery pack, check whether the contacts are clean and clean them
if necessary.
1. Plug the barrel connector of the mains adapter (

) into the connecting socket (

) on
the motor unit.
2. Connect the mains adapter to a properly installed, easily accessible plug socket. All
four bars on the battery status display (
1
) light up. The battery is being charged.
3. Charge up the battery for approx.
4 – 6
hours to achieve the maximum charging
capacity.
4. First disconnect the mains adapter from the mains power and then disconnect the
barrel connector from the motor unit.
Operation

Ensure that there are no larger, sharp objects on the surface which is to be cleaned.
■
Note the
MAX
marking on the dust container. If during use the marking is reached,
empty the dust container. Empty and clean the dust container after each use. The
motor
fi
lters must also be regularly cleaned in order to prevent overloading of the
motor.
■
Switch the device off after each surface has been cleaned as this will considerably
increase the operating time on each battery charge. Charge up the battery after use
(see the "Charging Up the Battery" chapter).
■
Do not use the device when it is connected to the mains adapter.
1. Select an accessory as required (see the “Device Overview” and “Accessories” chap-
ters) and attach it to the device (see the “Assembly” chapter).
2. Press the On / Off switch (

) to switch on the device:
Press 1 x: Speed level
1
Press 2 x: Speed level
2
Press 3 x: Off
