Operation
10.1 Fill the pump with water
Step 1: Remove the plug (5, Fig. 9) from the filler neck
and pour in clean water until the pump is comple
-
tely filled with water.
Step 2: Close the filler neck (5, Fig.9) again with the
screw plug.
Step 2: Connect the drain or suction hoses to the pump.
Step 4: Start the pump and make sure that there is no
water leakage.
10.2 Starting the water pump
Step 1: Fill the pump with clean water and connect all ho
-
ses to the water pump.
Step 2: Start the pump with the ON / OFF switch.
Step 3: After filling, open the existing shut-off device in
the pressure line, e.g. a faucet so that the air can
escape during the intake process.
Step 4: Check the suction lines for possible water leaks.
ATTENTION!
Before starting the motor, the pump must be com-
pletely filled with water.
Dry running can damage the pump.
NOTE!
When commissioning for the first time, it is essential
to make sure that the pump housing is completely
deaerated, even with self-priming pumps - that is,
filled with water. If this venting is omitted, the pump
does not suck in the pumped liquid. It is recom-
mended, but not necessary, in addition to deaerate
the suction line or to fill it with water.
ATTENTION!
Dry running the pump without pumping water must
be avoided as lack of water will cause the pump to
overheat. This can lead to considerable damage to
the device. In addition, there is very hot water in the
system, so there is a risk of scalding. With the pump
hot, unplug the power cord and allow the system to
cool.
ATTENTION!
Make sure that the pump is properly placed and
ready for use. Check if all hose connections are tight.
ATTENTION!
For safety reasons, never use the pump for corro
-
sive liquids such as acid. To avoid corrosion, do not
pump chemicals or other aggressive substances.
ATTENTION!
Do not allow the pump to run for more than 10 min-
utes with the discharge line closed as this may cause
damage to the pump due to water overheat-ing.
NOTE!
The garden pump GP 1105 P also has a pre-filter.
The pre-filter efficiently filters sand and similar parti
-
cles out of the liquid, minimizing wear and extending
pump life.
NOTE!
The garden pump GP 1105 S also has a dry running
protection to prevent damage to the pump.
