TCP employs a congestion avoidance mechanism wherein a congestion window’s
initial value is set to the same value as the maxseg. Each time a timeout or a
duplicate ACK is experienced, the congestion window is reset to a value of 1. A
deadlock condition can occur if the sender is waiting for the window size to
increase, and the receiver is waiting for the data. To break the deadlock, the sender
periodically queries the receiver to see if the window size has increased. These
queries are window probes. An exponential back-off is applied to the interval
between window probes, but the interval will not exceed the defined maximum.
Use the no form of the command to return the probe-max to the global value. If
no global settings exist for a parameter, the factory default parameter is used
instead.

no global settings exist for a parameter, the factory default parameter is used
