Appendix C      Command Summary

Configuration Command Set

TCP Tuning Configuration Command Set

Use TCP Tuning Configuration commands to fine tune TCP tuning parameters for 
either all servers or individual servers. Enter Global TCP Tuning Configuration mode 
by using the enable command in Non-Privileged mode, the configure command in 
Privileged mode, the ssl command in Configuration mode, and the tcp-tuning 
command in SSL Configuration mode. The prompt changes to 

<config-ssl-tcpTuning[global]>>

. To configure TCP tuning values for a single 

server, enter the enable command in Non-Privileged mode, the configure command 
in Privileged mode, the ssl command in Configuration mode, the appropriate server 
command and server name in SSL Configuration mode, and tcp-tuning in the Server 
Configuration mode. The prompt changes to 

<config-ssl-tcpTuning[server-servername]>>

. 

Per-server settings override global settings, and if no setting is used the factory 
defaults are used. The mtu setting affects communications with all aspects of the 
device, including telnet and Web management sessions, and is only available 
directly in the SSL Configuration mode. 

In this section, relevant RFC references are included where available.

Note

Do not alter factory default TCP tuning parameters unless you are 
sure of the appropriate values to use. 

2msltime 

Specifies the maximum amount of time that a segment can exist on the network 
before being discarded.

2msltime <seconds|default>

no 2msltime

Syntax Description

seconds

The number of seconds a segment can exist on the 
network before being discarded; the valid range is 
from 5 to 300 seconds (inclusive).

default

The factory default. At the time of publication, the 
factory default is 5 seconds.
