Accessing the CLI Using Telnet
Once the remote interface is configured with a valid IP address, you can
access the device through Telnet.
The Telnet client must have a route set up to allow access to the device. See
“Configuring the Remote Management Interface” on page 3-13
Note:
A maximum of 10 Telnet sessions can be connected at the same
time.

Setting the System Host Name
The system host name is a string used to uniquely identify the system. The
system host name replaces the default user prompt with a user-defined name.
The host name can be set manually, through DHCP, or through SNMP.
The following rules apply when setting a host name:
•
String between 2 and 63 characters.
•
The host name must not be an IP address.
•
No spaces are allowed.
•
At least one character must be alpha (a-z) or a dash (-).
•
Host name is case sensitive.
•
The following special characters are not allowed: “ % * ? !
