should make full contact across the front of the body near the junction of the thigh and
pelvis. Upper torso belts should fit over the shoulder. Belt restraints should be adjusted as
snugly as possible but with enough slack so as not to interfere with the occupant’s breath-
ing or create isolated pressure. Belt webbing should not be worn twisted in a manner that
significantly reduces the area of contact of the belt.
Wheelchair-mounted pelvic belt

An attachment is provided (USA customers only) on the upper frame of the wheelchair to
locate a wheelchair mounted pelvic belt.
Safety note: Any pelvic belt should be worn low across the front of the pelvis, so that the
angle of the pelvic belt is within the preferred zone of 45° to 75° to the horizontal, or the
optional zone of 30° to 45° to the horizontal as shown below. Steeper belt angles also
reduce the tendency for upper torso belts to pull the pelvic belt onto the abdomen during
frontal impact loading.
